Without songs and musical works, concert organizers have nothing to fill concert halls with. Songwriters, composers and lyricists – those who write the music and lyrics – form the basis of the concert economy, but did you know that the artist fees of the musicians on stage never cover the TONO payment to the songwriters?
Imagine a concert where 10 songs are written by a total of 30 composers and lyricists. Each of these will give you, as the organizer, permission to perform. Fortunately, you don't have to take on the job of contacting each individual to negotiate individual performance fees. Virtually all composers, lyricists and songwriters in the world are members of TONO or one of our sister societies in other countries. This means that you, as the organizer of concerts, get all your performance permits in one place – at TONO. You also only pay one invoice – to TONO. With your report on what was played, how many people listened and an overview of the ticket revenues, we do the rest of the work for you.
For the vast majority of concerts, it costs less than 10 percent of your gross ticket revenue, and the size of the TONO fee varies depending on the ticket revenue. Leave your name, phone number and email in the form below, and one of our skilled customer consultants will contact you to answer any questions you may have.

The artist fee does not cover the TONO remuneration for the songwriters. TONO is a livelihood for songwriters. TONO is a non-profit cooperative that each year pays our financial results to songwriters, composers and lyricists in Norway and the rest of the world. Thus, you, as a user and payer for the world repertoire of music that TONO manages, help provide a livelihood for those who create the music you love.
