Here is TONO's annual report for 2020

Copyright revenues are among the largest revenue sources in the Norwegian music industry. TONO today publishes its annual and transparency report for 2020, providing insight into the financial situation of music creators in a year that, for TONO, was characterized by both significant COVID-19-related losses and strong foreign and online revenues.

TONO's annual and transparency report tells the story of a creator economy that was hit hard by the global pandemic. TONO had significant revenue drops in a number of areas. At the same time, 2020 also yielded record revenues both from a combined online area and from the use of Norwegian-written music abroad.

This year we have chosen to present our figures as a transparency report in the form of a mini-portal on TONO.no. The portal is available in both Norwegian and English. Transparency report

In 2014, the EU adopted a new CRM directive that, among other things, requires collective management companies to prepare transparency reports with a defined set of content. A Norwegian regulation for this has not yet been prepared. TONO has nevertheless chosen to include the information we expect to be required in the future. It is TONO's wish that the annual and transparency report should provide deeper insight into and understanding of TONO's unique nature, operations, finances and governance - both among our members, our customers, the rest of the music industry and other interested parties.
