All applicants for this year's TONO scholarship and Young Talents scholarship have today been informed by email about the result of the scholarship processing.
/ 17/05/2018 / Willy MartinsenTONO's scholarship committee has finished its work, and today all applicants will receive information by email whether they have been awarded a scholarship or not. This year, 521 scholarships have been awarded, of which 369 are TONO scholarships and 152 are Young Talent scholarships. The scholarships will be paid to the recipients around May 23rd to the account numbers the applicants provided in their applications.
In its assessment of the applications, the scholarship committee has based its assessment on the following: criteria which is described on tono.no, and which was informed about in the scholarship announcement.
The TONO scholarship
Scholarships are awarded at three main levels, respectively: kr 100,000 kr 50,000 and kr 25,000. After specific assessments, grant amounts other than the main amounts were granted in some cases where the application projects were completely or partially the same for several applicants.
The following number of scholarships will be awarded in 2018 at the various levels:
7 scholarships each kr 100,000
55 scholarships each kr 50,000
296 scholarships each kr 25,000
8 scholarships each kr 12,500
3 scholarships each kr 8 333
A total of 369 scholarships in total kr 10,975,000
Young talents
This year, a total of kr 1,174,000,- for the Young Talents scholarship, of which kr 600,000 has been allocated by the group associations NOPA and NKF in a ratio of 60/40. The amount is distributed as follows:
The committee subsequently awarded scholarships to 152 applicants, distributed as follows:
33 scholarships of 6,000 each
65 scholarships of 6,000 each
54 scholarships of 6,000 each
A total of 152 scholarships in total kr 1 174,000
The committee consisted of Morten Lorentzen and Tonje Unstad from NOPA, Kari Beate Tandberg and David Bratlie from NKF, Hedvig Mollestad Thomassen (free seat/independent) and Hanne Kolstø (free seat/independent), as well as Steinar Fjeld from Musikkforleggerne.
The scholarship committee's decision may be appealed to the TONO board within three weeks of notification of the decision to the applicant. The right to appeal only applies to the case processing, not the committee's discretion.
