/ 30/03/2019 / Kristian DugstadTonight the Spellemannprisen will be awarded for the 47th time. TONO and Spellemann have been collaborating for ten years this year. – It is a pleasure to be part of the celebration, says Cato Strøm, CEO of TONO.

The Norwegian record industry took the initiative for Spellemann, and presented the award for the first time in 1973. The award has been an institution in the Norwegian music industry for almost 50 years.
TONO is one of Spellemann's main partners, and there has been close cooperation between the two organizations for ten years, this year.
– The Spellemannsprisen has highlighted Norwegian composers and lyricists for a number of years. It is important to have an arena that is able to see the past, the future and the breadth of Norwegian music. By acknowledging what has been, and at the same time inspiring innovation, Spellemann helps drive Norwegian music forward. This is a collaboration we are proud of. It is a pleasure to be part of the celebration, says Cato Strøm, CEO of TONO.
The TONO Composer Award category was created in 2016, as part of the collaboration. Both in this category and in the Lyricist of the Year category, TONO appoints the jury.
TONO is for all composers, lyricists and songwriters. We wish all nominees in these and all other categories the best of luck.
