Last Saturday, the Norwegian music industry celebrated some of those who distinguished themselves with particularly great releases in 2012. TONO congratulates all the nominees, and not least everyone who was able to leave Stavanger Concert Hall with a trophy in hand.
/ 25/03/2013 / codexTONO was behind two of the awards, Lyricist of the Year and Composer of the Year. In these categories, Tønes and Eivind Buene won, respectively, and that in competition with other strong nominees. Tønes told TONO after the award that it was more rewarding than expected to win the lyricist award. He also said that we could have an interview with him at a later date. Then we can hopefully get a little insight into what makes him able to conjure up one good text after another. We will come back to this. Eivind Buene pointed out the importance of highlighting narrow genres, and that such makes Norwegian music broader. Not least, he believes that a background in contemporary music and niches can add new, creative perspectives and new inspiration to other genres. We will try to get an interview with Buene as well in due course. This man also has things to teach. Here is an overview of all the nominees, as well as winners in the various categories.
