CISAC President and UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador Jean-Michel Jarre leads the launch of UNESCO's new initiative ResiliArt.

The campaign consists of a series of virtual debates to raise awareness about the catastrophic consequences of the corona crisis for the cultural industry.

The first debate will be held on Wednesday, April 15 and will be chaired by Jean-Michel Jarre, President of CISAC, the international umbrella organization of TONO companies.

The debate takes place on Wednesday 15/04 at 14:00 here..

- Culture can be a solution

Through ResiliArt, UNESCO and CISAC will give the cultural industry a voice. The debates will be a resource for policymakers when developing policies and economic measures aimed at artists.

– Life and health are of course the first priority in this crisis. However, Covid-19 is also a disaster for culture. Artists risk huge losses of income. The economy and jobs in the cultural industry are at risk of being lost, says CISAC President Jean-Michel Jarre.

– Culture can also be part of the solution, says CISAC President Jean-Michel Jarre.

He emphasizes that a global debate forum where artists' voices are heard is necessary for states to be able to develop effective measures.

– Culture can also be part of the solution. Art and culture are fundamental to society. They add value to our lives and help us through difficult times.
