Kari Jahnsen, with the stage name Farao, has been nominated for the Spellemann in the TONO composer award category for the album "Till it's all forgotten".

– It is of course very nice to be nominated for the Spellemann, and not least the composer award, says Kari. – This category seems to have a slightly different focus than the other categories, with the actual craft of songwriting in focus, which I think is very great.

– Tell us a little about “Till it's all forgotten”, the album you are nominated for.

– The album was written the year before last when I was living in London, but I traveled back and forth to Iceland to record the album in Reykjavik. What was important to me during the recording process was to let the music take control, so that I acted as a kind of facilitator. Let the path be created as you go instead of forcing the music in a predetermined direction. The best thing I've heard about my music is that it's difficult to categorize, both in terms of genres and sources of inspiration. That it's something new. I think it's important to try and create musical momentum rather than reflecting something that already exists, she says.
