A good song enhances the summer feeling on long sunny evenings, but what makes a song a summer hit? Did you see TONO's summer campaign on social media?

This summer, TONO asked people what their favorite summer song is and what makes a song a summer hit. This resulted in two videos that have been published across our social media channels. In total, the films have received 2,75 million views.

Increases awareness

TONO ensures that songwriters, composers, lyricists and music publishers get paid when their music is used publicly. We also make it easy for businesses to use music with a TONO license. In order to do this work as effectively as possible, it is important to have a well-known and strong brand.

Campaigns like this help remind people of the value of music and build their awareness of TONO.

– We at TONO are constantly working to increase awareness and knowledge of TONO, and to build understanding of our members' right to be paid when their music is used in society. It is also important for us to remind companies and organizations that use music that TONO has the world's best repertoire. We communicate this in various ways throughout the year, including through this summer's campaign. The fact that we have achieved several million views helps to increase awareness of TONO and at the same time reminds people that music is important and should not be taken for granted, says Willy Martinsen, Director of Communications at TONO.

Since spring 2023, TONO has had its own communications campaign aimed at companies that use background music. At the center of this campaign is background music newspaper musicamplifier.no.
