The person responsible for the musical performance must obtain permission from TONO in advance and pay a fee for this. This applies to performances of both Norwegian and foreign music, and regardless of whether the music is performed live or recorded. The person, company or organization that facilitates the public access to the music is responsible.
If an event is of a private nature, that is, performed in a private home, you do not have to pay a fee for this.
