Polaris HUB, a joint venture between the Nordic collective rights management societies TONO, Koda (DK) and Teosto (FIN), has entered into a licensing agreement with Facebook. “The agreement represents another important step forward in the work to ensure that Nordic rights holders receive payment when their music is used digitally,” says Cato Strøm, CEO of TONO.

The new agreement between Facebook and Polaris HUB covers Facebook, Instagram, Oculus and Facebook Messenger services. The agreement also covers the repertoire of Icelandic rights manager Stef. Music represented by the four Nordic organizations will be available to Facebook users throughout the European territory.

Polaris HUB is a joint venture established by the Nordic collective rights management organizations TONO, Koda (DK) and Teosto (FIN). In the future, Polaris HUB will act on behalf of all three organizations when negotiating and concluding agreements with international digital music services.

Through the Polaris hub, we aim to make it easier than ever for online services to offer Nordic music to their customers.
