TONO is one of Spellemann's most important supporters, and one of the contributors that makes this annual celebration of Norwegian artists, musicians and composers/lyricists possible. According to Kampanje magazine, the TV broadcast had close to a million viewers and almost 60 percent market share on Saturday evening.

– TONO believes it is important to showcase the cultural and societal value that creators, artists and musicians contribute. The more cultural life flourishes, the richer we are as a nation and society. We experience that the production of new works and new music is in very good shape today, something that Spellemann was a clear expression of. All nominees are winners in our eyes, but we would still like to send a special congratulations to the winners of the TONO categories Lyricist and Composer, namely our members Frida Ånnevik and Lars Petter Hagen, says TONO CEO Cato Strøm. Head of Spellemann, Marte Thorsby, believes that it was a nice celebration of the music year 2013: – 2013 was a fantastic year for Norwegian music. There were a great many releases that were submitted to Spellemann, and I know that the juries have had a difficult job. Winners are chosen in all categories, but the purpose is primarily to highlight the efforts that are being made throughout the industry to constantly create new music. I would like to congratulate all nominees and all winners again for what they did for Norwegian music in 2013, says Spellemann chairman Marte Thorsby.
