During Saturday's Alarm Prize ceremony, the last of the EDVARD Prizes for 2006 was awarded. The main jury for the EDVARD Prize had decided that the prize in the popular music category for 2006 should go to Kjartan Kristiansen for the work "Enhjørning". The plan was to present the prize during the Øya Festival that same year, but for various reasons it was not possible to hold the ceremony.

In 2006, TONO awarded the prize in three classes – contemporary music, popular music and open class.
