From singing clubs in Lillestrøm in the 70s, via the rock bands Veslefrikk and Can Can, to an extensive solo career – Anne Grete Preus has lived her entire life as a musician, composer and lyricist. A life that has offered both challenges and uncertainty.
– TONO is at least somewhat predictable. You know that some money will come into your account. I was completely overwhelmed when I discovered that someone was so careful to make sure I got mine. I also think it has great emotional value. Getting compensation for the work you do means that you are taken seriously.
It is not just-just to focus on becoming an artist, she believes. TONO helps make it possible for young talents to dare to take the step of becoming songwriters.
– The passion I felt when I got my first guitar is still alive. The joy of making a song is so great.
