TONO will also be handing out EDVARD awards this year. Here you can see the three nominees in the Text category.
/ 21/06/2016 / codexThis year, the EDVARD jury has decided to nominate three authors in each of the five EDVARD categories: Contemporary, Text, Open Class, Popular and Challenger. The winners in the different categories will be announced in late summer and autumn 2016. We will announce the nominees in the different categories in the coming weeks.
Here are the nominees in the Text category:
Ingvar Hovland for "Show the guards home".

– Oh! That was really nice to hear! A great honor to be nominated among so many great copywriters. All these pats on the back encourage me to keep going, he says.
Jeff Wasserman for "Promised Land".

– What a wonderful surprise! I feel truly honored. There are large quantities of world-class English texts produced by TONO members, and therefore I am proud and grateful that I have been nominated. After decades of tireless work in my attempt to master the art of copywriting, it feels especially good to receive such an award, says Wasserman.
Long live Maria Roggen, for "Apocalypse".

– I am so happy to be nominated for lyrics, and especially when it is Apokaluptein. It is a living project, I am in the middle of the process of a record version that will be released in August. Using lyrics both on written melodies and as recitations, together with an extremely dynamic band, gives the words a lot of space. It poses questions for me about my social commitment: How much of that is there room in my performing work? Apokaluptein is a scary and important thing that inspires me, that has given me very exciting audience meetings, and that is probably changing me as a performer, she says.
