EDVARD: Here are the nominees in the Challenger category

Hajk, Pål Moddi Knutsen and Cashmere Cat are the nominees for the 2017 EDVARD Award in the Challenger category.

The EDVARD jury has also decided this year to nominate three authors in each of the five EDVARD categories Contemporary, Text, Open Class, Popular and Challenger. The winners in the various categories will be announced in the fall of 2017. Here are the nominees in the Challenger category:

Hajk for "Hajk".

-It's incredibly cool to be nominated for the EDVARD Prize. This recognition means a lot and is a great motivation for our continued work on writing new, exciting music. Thank you.

Pål Moddi Knutsen for "Unsongs".

-Unsongs has truly been a challenge to make, but it has also been a joy to get to know dangerous and important music from such different parts of the world. I would like to share this nomination with everyone behind the songs on the record – both those who are still with us and those who sacrificed themselves for the music.
