These won the Sami Music Awards 2025

On Saturday, February 8, the Sami Music Awards 2025 were presented in Alta. The awards ceremony concluded the Sami Music Week industry festival.

The Sami Music Awards were presented in the categories Open Class, Tradition Bearer, Composer and Young Artist.

Tradition bearer

Elisabeth Misvær is a Sami singer, yoiker and cultural mediator from Bodø, with classical singing training from the Vienna Opera School. Over the past 25 years, she has developed her musical signature within Sea Sami and Pite Sami.

Composer

Johan Sara is a visionary composer who, with his unique ability to combine traditional joik with modern musical expressions, has created a universe all his own. influential voices in Sami music today.

Kajsa Sogn Balto – For outstanding contributions to Sami music and a memorable concert with KORK, as well as for bringing Sami Christmas spirit to the Opera and Norwegian homes.

Linus Johnsen – A name to remember. After his strong participation in SGP 2023, Linus Johnsen took a short break, but in 2024 he returned with force in the single "Váibmu Julkigoahta". With his unique

voice and strong communication, he is a young artist who really deserves attention going forward.
