The awards ceremony was established in connection with Sami Music Week in 2016, and aims to showcase the breadth of Sami music, and elevate those who work with Sami musical expressions to a high artistic level.
TONO is one of the Sami Music Week and Sami Music Awards partners.
The awards ceremony will be held next Friday, February 5th. The broadcast can be followed live from 19:00 on https://www.nrk.no/sapmi.
The nominees for the awards in four of the awards can be seen below. In addition, the award for Urbi of the Year (translated Bud of the Year) will be shared among the artists who have been named Urbi of the Month by NRK Sápmi throughout 2020. Read more about the Sami Music Awards 2021 on NRK here.
