THESE ARE NOMINATED FOR THE MUSIC PUBLISHERS' AWARD 2026

Among the TONO members who can take home awards from the 2026 Music Publishers Award are Ari Bajgora, Sigrid, Synne Vo, Highasakite and Nils Petter Molvær. The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on March 4 at the Embassy in Oslo.

The Music Publishers Award is organized by the Music Publishers, and this year awards are given in nine categories, in addition to an honorary award. The Music Publishers Award is the only award ceremony in Norway that awards awards in the categories Score of the Year and Synchronization of the Year. Previous winners include Ina Wroldsen, girl in red and Eivind Buene.

Synne Vo is one of the artists and songwriters who has made a big impression in recent years, and is currently featured on TV2 with Hver gang vi møtes. She won Breakthrough of the Year at the Music Publishers Award in 2023, and this year she is nominated for Song of the Year (Popular Music) together with Tobias Sten for "Ingen her e deg" and could also win the award for Author of the Year - Popular Music. She says about the nominations:

– It's really great to be recognized, not just for what you do as an artist, but for the work you do as a songwriter! Songwriting is the reason I do this, and I really appreciate that the Music Publishers Award sheds light on the creators behind all the music.

Among the other nominees is Daniel Herskedal, who is nominated in four categories. He says the following about the nominations:

– Being nominated in four different categories feels absolutely crazy, I am very honored and proud. The fact that it is my own colleagues and industry that have nominated me makes the award hang extra high. That I should be nominated in four different categories is unexpected and very fun, but it also says something about the fact that I work very variedly, together with fantastic colleagues who inspire me, help shape my music and give it greater depth.

The nominees for the Music Publishers Award represent the great breadth and quality among Norwegian composers, producers and songwriters, and at the same time reflect the work that music publishers do throughout the year to elevate both music and their songwriters, composers and producers nationally and internationally.

This year, a brand new award is also being introduced: International Breakthrough of the Year. The award will honor an artist or group of artists who have taken major steps on the international music scene and contributed to putting Norwegian music on the map.
