You need to remember this when organizing an online concert

No songwriter can live off of applause alone. At TONO, you get permission to use the music of 37,000 TONO members, and millions of other music creators from around the world.

It's easy to get an agreement with TONO

No songwriter can live off of applause alone. With TONO, you get the performance license for virtually the entire world's repertoire of protected music. The money you pay becomes important income for those who make the music you love.

Whether a band performs songs by Ed Sheeran, Bruce Springsteen, Postgirobygget or Sigrid – or plays music composed by one of the band members – the songwriters must give their consent for the music to be performed. At TONO you get this consent from 37,000 Norwegian songwriters – and several million songwriters from other countries – in one place. It doesn't get any easier.

The money goes to the music creators.

The money you pay TONO goes towards paying those who have written the music that is performed in your broadcast – both Norwegian and foreign authors. This is important because no music creator can live off of applause alone.

TONO's license initially only covers concerts that are streamed to users in Norway. TONO can also license commercial concerts that are broadcast live from Norwegian stages, as long as the organizer accounts for all revenues to TONO.

TONO is a livelihood for songwriters

Remember: TONO is a non-profit company that pays our results to songwriters in Norway and the rest of the world! This means that you, who use and pay for music, help create a livelihood for the music creators.
