It is a great pleasure to be able to inform all our members that TONO's highest authority, the Board of Representatives, on June 11th of this year adopted historic changes to TONO's management rules. This includes completely new statutes and distribution plan, and a completely new settlement model.

The background to the changes is complex. Partly, it is the membership's desire for changes in the management structure, partly, it is the regional authorities' demands for changed management structures in Europe, and partly, it is foreign sister societies and large foreign rights holder groups that, like TONO, are making changes to the flow of rights in the reciprocity agreements.
TONO wants a strengthened democracy, openness, transparency and increased participation and engagement from the members in the governance of TONO. The active participation of the members in the organization's governing bodies is absolutely necessary for the legitimacy towards our customers and towards the national and regional authorities that shape the framework conditions for the management organizations' activities.
