Ballade is reborn in March

The industry magazine Ballade was discontinued in December, much to the sorrow of Norwegian music and cultural life. TONO is pleased that the magazine will be relaunched in March, at the initiative and with support from the Norwegian Composers' Association (NKF).

– TONO is pleased that the Norwegian Composers' Association has taken the initiative to continue Ballade. The medium has been very important to the Norwegian music industry for many years, and we have high expectations for the newly launched service, says TONO's CEO Cato Strøm. Ballade will be run according to the editorial poster, and will be operated independently of NKF. The association's board includes representatives from NKF, NOPA (Norwegian Association of Composers and Lyricists) and FONO (Association of Norwegian Record Companies), associations that all operate across genres. The chairwoman is Bente Leiknes Thorsen from NKF. Newly appointed editor Ida Habbestad is a renowned music journalist, who for a number of years has also been one of the central contributors to our member magazine TONO-nytt. The rebuilt Ballade will fill an important role in Norwegian music and cultural life. – The Norwegian music scene needs an independent, critical medium that can challenge and enrich everyone who is part of the industry, and we are looking forward to the launch in March, says Strøm.
