The main jury for the EDVARD Prize decided earlier this year that the prize in the popular music category 2006 should go to Kjartan Kristiansen, and it was planned to present the prize during the Øya Festival. For various reasons, it was not possible to hold the ceremony. The prize will be presented later this year.

As of June 2006, settlement vouchers for sound recording (NCB settlements) will no longer be sent out as standard. Access to the settlement vouchers will be gained by logging into TONO's web services.
In an article published on Nettavisen.no on May 30, the CEO of a company calling itself Crude Oil claims that TONO will demand NOK 144 million from the company as compensation for the company's online radio activity. Based on standard terms and conditions provided in an email, Crude Oil made its own calculation.
Producer Sindre Hotvedt has corrected and apologized to TONO that an error was made in the review of the work "Natta vi har". TONO therefore expects that the case is approaching its resolution, and that the Norwegian Folk Music and Dance Association will withdraw its hasty accusation against Helene Bøksle of violating the Copyright Act.
At TONO's annual meeting on Tuesday, May 9, a new board was elected for a 2-year term. Ragnar Bjerkreim was elected chairman of the board, taking over from Håkon Berge.
