Background music

Background music refers to music that is made available to the public in strength training rooms, changing rooms, reception areas, etc. Background music is calculated at a fixed rate of NOK 10.60 per sq m per year. 

(the group training area should not be included when calculating the background music area).

Group training

Group training means aerobics, spinning, dance groups, TRX groups, etc. You pay according to how many participants you have per group training session.

Sound fixing:

If your instructors copy music and create their own CDs, mp3s, DVDs, etc. for use in their group training classes, you must pay a sound recording fee to NCB.
You can easily get permission for this through TONO. The sound installation fee applies for a calendar year and is NOK 142 per instructor.
