Without focusing on singles or radio, they manage to reach a wide audience and sell out Rockefeller. Sushi x Kobe proves that you can still go far with a clear vision and a good idea. Musically, the album has a clear hip-hop anchor, but at the same time explores the moods and soundscape of the techno club. The result stands on its own two feet, and has personality beyond traditional genre conventions. It sounds dark and dangerous. The listener is not stroked by the hair, but is still drawn in.
