TONO settles concerts in September/October of the year after the actual performance took place. So if you played a concert last year, you will be settled this year.

Reporting of concerts

We are dependent on receiving music reports in order to be able to send out invoices. In principle, it is the concert organizer who is responsible for submitting reports, but in cases where you as the creator were also the artist, it is more appropriate for you to send this to us.
Your report may be the basis for the invoice we send to the responsible organizer, so it is important to provide as precise information as possible.

Log in to MY TONO and report your concert there! Remember that you must list all works that were performed, including any cover versions and other people's works, in the report.

In order to process all concerts leading up to TONO's autumn settlement, we have set the following deadlines:
February 1 for submission of reports for the second half of the previous year
1. October for submission of reports for the first half of the current year

Please note that it is not possible to report concerts on Mitt TONO that are more than two years old (as of today).

In this area, a fee is charged that directly determines the concert's settlement amount. The net fee for each concert is settled on the individual concert. This makes it easy to understand the finances of each individual concert.

For licensing agreements, where multiple concerts are licensed within a time period, the net fee for the agreement will be divided by the number of concerts the agreement applies to. For licensing agreements where TONO has not received all concert reports, part of the fee will be temporarily set aside for up to one year or until all concert reports have been received. After one year, the remaining funds for the program will be settled on the basis of the received concert reports, as an additional settlement. The funds will be distributed according to the relative playing time and number of performances within the agreement as a whole.

Example:
A customer has an agreement for 10 concerts during one year, where the net consideration amounts to NOK 100,000. This means that each of the 10 concerts is to be settled with NOK 10,000. At the time of settlement, we have received music reports for 5 of these 10 concerts. We can then settle these concerts with NOK 10,000.kr each, and then withhold the remaining 50,000 kroner. After the settlement of the 5 concerts for which we have received music reports, we spend the next year doing what we can to obtain music reports for the remaining 5 concerts. These are then settled continuously throughout the year, when we settle concerts. After one year, any remaining amount will be settled as an additional settlement to the concerts we have already settled based on the received music reports. The remaining amount is settled for the works that have been played at the concerts that have already been settled, according to playing time and number of performances.

Church services/ceremonies

We receive a grant from the Ministry of Culture and Equality for the use of music in religious ceremonies and ceremonies based on non-religious beliefs. This net amount is paid as compensation for this type of use. The net amount is distributed among the music reports received.

Mega concerts (Valid from 01.01.2026)

These are concerts that have over kr 50,000 in TONO fees. Here, the settlement is calculated directly based on the fees paid in each individual concert., with a fixed administration fee.
