The jury was moved by the album's complete vision and atmosphere, where the listener is invited into a holistic work of art in just under 40 minutes. The works have an introspective seriousness in them, but are also experienced as generous and approachable. The title of the album, Voice & Strings & Timpani, says something about the content, but the album is so much more than the sum of these elements. With quirky rhythms, delicate flutes and captivating vocals, it nods towards electronica, hip-hop and contemporary. It is as if the listener is lured on a journey into an existential misty landscape, where the nine tracks lead the way and hold our hand.
