TONO's vision provides direction for our work every day, in service to those who create and those who consume music.
TONO is the link between music creators and users. On one side are songwriters, composers, lyricists and music publishers. On the other are broadcasters, film and music streaming services, concert organizers, cinemas, shops, cafes, restaurants and a wide range of other businesses.
In TONO's 97th year of operation, our profit for distribution to rights holders in Norway and abroad was NOK 928,7 million. Through collective management, we consolidated and simplified the licensing of music rights and helped create important values for both creators and users. Copyright and collective management ensure payment to music creators when their works are used publicly. At the same time, the TONO license gives music users easy and predictable access to a world repertoire consisting of millions of works under one license.
It's simple and effective, and it creates value.
