All applicants for this year's TONO and Young Talents scholarships have been informed by email today about the outcome of the scholarship processing. The scholarships are scheduled to be paid out on Tuesday, May 28th.
/ 27/05/2019 / Kristian DugstadTONO's scholarship committee has finished its work, and today all applicants will receive information by email whether they have been awarded a scholarship or not. This year, 637 scholarships have been awarded, of which 407 are TONO scholarships and 230 are Young Talent scholarships. The scholarships will be paid to the recipients on Tuesday, May 28, to the account numbers the applicants provided in their applications.
In its assessment of the applications, the scholarship committee has based its assessment on the criteria described on TONO.no, and which were informed about at the scholarship announcement.
Scholarships are awarded at three main levels, respectively: kr 100,000 kr 50,000 and kr 25,000. After specific assessments, grant amounts other than the main amounts were granted in some cases where the application projects were completely or partially the same for several applicants.
The following number of scholarships will be awarded in 2019 at the various levels:
8 scholarships each kr 100 000
44 scholarships each kr 50,000
350 scholarships each kr 25,000
5 scholarships each kr 10,000
A total of 407 scholarships in total kr 11 800,000
This year, a total of kr 1,255,000 for the Young Talents scholarship, of which kr 600,000 has been allocated by the group associations NOPA and NKF in a ratio of 60/40.
The committee subsequently awarded scholarships to 230 applicants, distributed as follows:
14 scholarships each kr 10,000
14 scholarships each kr 7,500
202 scholarships each kr 5,000
A total of 230 scholarships in total kr 1 255 000
The committee consisted of Morten Lorentzen and Tonje Unstad from NOPA, Kari Beate Tandberg and David Bratlie from NKF, Hedvig Mollestad Thomassen (unemployed/NOPA) and Hanne Kolstø (unemployed/NOPA), as well as Steinar Fjeld from Musikkforleggerne.
The scholarship committee's decision may be appealed to the TONO board within three weeks of notification of the decision to the applicant. The right to appeal only applies to the case processing, not the committee's discretion.
