09:30 – 10:00 Opening and registration
10.00 – 10.30 Ida Maria about music in computer games
The gaming industry had a turnover of around 140 billion dollars in 2018, or well over a trillion in Norwegian kroner. This makes the gaming industry larger than the music and film industries combined. Ida Maria Sivertsen was the first Norwegian artist/songwriter to have a song placed in the game "Rock Band".
10.30 – 11.00 Panel: Sync in games
What can be done to get music into games? And how does one work as a composer towards this niche field? Conversation between composer Knut A. Haugen, Audio Director Arild Iversen from Funcom and Ida Maria. Led by Goran Obad from Ohlogy.
11.00 – 11.25 How to reach the streaming services?
With around 20,000 new releases released on Spotify every day, standing out from the crowd requires a good marketing plan. Few people know this better than Christoffer Haaland from distributor The Orchard, and he will show how services like Spotify have changed over the past year, and how you should adapt your marketing accordingly.
11.30 – 12.00 Metafields
Streaming services are designed for recorded music, but what about all the music that has a visual or three-dimensional component? Ross Karre, CEO of Metafields and Digitice, talks about the opportunities and challenges in the work of making new music visible.
12.00 – 12.30 Lunch

12.35 – 12.55 The Kompoddists: Virtual open office landscape becomes a podcast
Composers Therese Birkelund Ulvo and Bente Leiknes Thorsen run the podcast Kompoddistene, where they talk about everyday life as composers, working methods, their commitment to cultural politics and feminism, etc. They will talk about why they make podcasts about music creation, and share good tips for others who want to contribute to the visibility of making music in Norway.
12.55 – 13.15 The Battle for the Internet
The EU has been working on a new copyright directive since 2016. If things go as we hope, the value gap will be closed, and the music industry will get its rightful share of revenue from social media and other user-generated platforms. Inger Elise Mey, Department Director for Online Media at TONO, is working closely on the processes in the EU, and will provide an update on the status and what is happening in the future.
13.15 – 13.45 Master meeting: Sigrid Raabe and Martin Sjølie
Artist and songwriter Sigrid Solbakk Raabe has had a solid impact on an international audience in recent years. She writes the music together with Martin Sjølie, and under the post “Mestermøtet” they both come to be interviewed about how they work together.
13.45 – 14.00 Break, coffee break, networking
14.00 – 15.15 Speed meetings
After the seminar program, we will organize quick meetings, where you can meet various representatives of companies that will be useful for authors, artists and musicians. Get personal guidance from Apple Music or Music Norway - or talk to a lawyer about your rights as an author.
