Our joint Nordic platform for licensing rights in music streaming, Polaris Hub, has a new website. A new application portal makes it easier for customers.
/ 08/04/2024 / Kristian DugstadPolaris Hub is owned by TONO, Danish Koda and Finnish Teosto, and licenses the rights to the owner companies, as well as to Icelandic Stef, for music streaming services. The company was established in 2018.
The company negotiates on behalf of the aforementioned companies and enters into agreements with services such as Spotify for the use of our repertoire in various territories. Now the company has new websites.
– We are proud of the new website, which beautifully showcases what we are and do, and makes it easy for customers in the music streaming space to find, contact us and apply for permission to use the repertoire of Koda, Teosto, Stef and TONO, says CEO of Polaris hub, Erik Brataas.
With the new pages, designed by Pondorosa Agency in England, Polaris Hub is also launching a partially self-service portal for the first time, which will make it easier for start-ups to apply for a license.
The first seeds of Polaris Hub began in 2013, when Koda, Teosto and TONO established the Polaris collaboration. This led to the establishment of Polaris Hub in 2018. Since then, the company has negotiated agreements for the owner companies and Stef with, among others, Spotify, Meta (Facebook and Instagram), YouTube and TikTok.
– By licensing the repertoire directly to the music streaming services, the songwriters, composers, lyricists and music publishers represented by Koda, Teosto, Stef and TONO get their money faster than before. At the same time, it gives us greater negotiating power when we represent multiple parties. The companies we license on behalf also gain greater control over their own data when they have a direct customer relationship with the music streaming services, says Brataas, CEO of Polaris Hub.
