Review of works – a reminder

From 1 January 2009, sheet music, CDs, etc. will no longer be submitted as attachments to work reviews. This applies to all types of works, including arrangements of free compositions. Submitted sheet music, CDs, etc. will not be returned. Today's web service is active until the launch of E-anmeld in the spring, which means that works with a playing time of more than 15 minutes until then will have to be submitted on paper. The same applies to reviews of arrangements of free compositions. We have today published a new version of the paper edition of the review form. You can find a link to the new form. Please note that with the launch of E-anmeld, the rules that such works must be documented and reviewed on paper will no longer apply. With E-anmeld, all works can be reviewed electronically. Remember that permission for the use of existing music and text is the responsibility of the members and that such permission must be in order before the work is submitted to TONO. In connection with the new notification routines, a random sampling scheme has been introduced where a selection of works is routinely selected, and where a request is sent that work documentation for the selected works be forwarded. This scheme has been established to ensure that notified works have the level of work according to TONO's distribution plan, and to ensure that existing music/text has not been used without permission. If TONO does not receive the requested documentation after a set deadline, the notification will be rejected. The IPI number is your international identification number and is used by TONO companies worldwide. All members can find their IPI number under the menu item Member Profile by logging into TONO's web services. Those who became members in 2008 or later were informed of this number in their admission letter. It is now possible to ensure correct identification in the work registration by providing the IPI number of the rights holders. This can be particularly useful when reporting works where some of the rights holders are members of foreign sister societies of TONO. For those of you who use MAC and have problems with the current web service, we can say that E-reporting will not have these problems, but that you will unfortunately have to report on paper until E-reporting is in place.
