TONO awards scholarships and prizes every year. The purpose of the scholarships is to provide support for projects that will result in new musical works. TONO's EDVARD Prize aims to highlight individual outstanding achievements as an inspiration for the rest of the TONO community of music creators, to contribute to increased understanding of the work carried out by TONO members, and to create increased awareness of newly written Norwegian music.

The EDVARD Prize

TONO has awarded the EDVARD Prize (See an overview of all winners throughout the years by clicking here) in various categories since 1998. The award is given to TONO members who have distinguished themselves with particularly strong achievements in the previous year. In the menu on the right you will find a historical overview of the EDVARD winners through all the years up to the present day.

Two scholarships

TONO has two scholarship schemes: the TONO Scholarship and Young Talents (Read more about the scholarships by clicking here). The TONO scholarship is mainly aimed at TONO members with a degree of real professional practice in composition or production of lyrics for music. Young Talents aims to stimulate the creation of new music among younger TONO members. The only formal requirements here are that the applicant is between 17 and 23 years old, and that they have a management contract with TONO.
