The Ministry of Culture is providing TONO members with a grant of NOK 34 million as compensation for last year's COVID-19-related loss of TONO income.
/ 23/03/2022 / Kristian DugstadTONO has been in dialogue with the Ministry of Culture for some time regarding compensation to our members for their COVID-19-related losses in 2021.
It is good news that the Ministry has decided to allocate NOK 34 million. The grant will cover approximately 70 percent of TONO members' lost remuneration income.
– We are pleased that the new government is following up on the signals they gave upon taking office. We are pleased with the open and constructive dialogue TONO has had with both the political leadership and the civil service, says CEO, Cato Strøm.
In 2021, TONO received NOK 30,5 million from the Ministry of Culture which was paid to members as compensation for COVID-19-related losses in 2020.
2021 was another demanding year for TONO members. It is therefore very positive that the Ministry of Culture has decided to grant compensation this year as well.
– There is no doubt that this will be very well received among TONO's Norwegian members, who have left behind two very difficult years. We do not ignore the fact that 2022 may also be a year outside of what we can call normal, says Strøm.
