Norwegian songwriters had record-high TONO payouts in 2024 – and those under 30 accounted for the biggest growth. Here are the ten young members who grew the most last year.
/ 27/05/2025 / Kristian DugstadTONO members – songwriters, composers, lyricists and music publishers – achieved a total of NOK 374,8 million in revenue from TONO in 2024, an increase of NOK 51 million from the previous year. The strongest percentage growth is found among songwriters under 30, with an overall increase of 10 percent.

– The fact that we were able to pay out more to Norwegian music creators and music publishers in 2024 than ever before is gratifying, and shows that music and copyright create value not only for those who listen and businesses that use music, but also for those who create it. It is also inspiring to see that it is those under 30 who had the strongest growth in payments in 2024, says Karl Vestli, CEO of TONO.
Here are the ten TONO members under 30 who had the greatest percentage growth in TONO income from 2023 to 2024. All have had incomes of over 10,000 kroner in both years and an increase of over 500 percent. The list is presented in alphabetical order – and you can read more about them further down.

ADAM GRYTING (LITTLE CAESAR)
Adam Gryting, known by his stage name lille Caesar, has had a remarkable growth as both an artist and songwriter in recent years. In 2024 he played to full houses at Parkteatret and Rockefeller, and in 2025 he released his debut album Long Live Life, which went straight into the charts. He has been nominated for P3 Gold and is one of the country's most streamed young artists.
– I've tried to get good at a lot of weird things over the years, but songwriting is the only thing I still nerd out about every day – and actually get better at.
AXEL FLEET
Axel Flåten, also known as AXIE, is a creative content creator, animator and music producer from Haugesund. He started on YouTube with humorous animation videos, and has since written and produced music, including co-writing the songs "TERRIBLE THINGS" and "I'M SANE".
– Those were the songs that kept me from getting into my dream college – and now they have their own fan base. It has taught me that there is an audience for everything, and that you should never give up, says Axel Flåten.
ELINE NOELIA MYRENG
Eline Noelia Myreng is a Norwegian songwriter based in the international K-pop market. She had her breakthrough with the song "I AM" for the group IVE, which went to number one in South Korea and gained global recognition in 2023. She has written for TV shows and artists in Asia, and has been active in sessions in Korea, the US and the Nordic countries, among others.
– Getting my breakthrough as a songwriter feels like confirmation that what I've spent so much time and emotion on since I was 8 years old actually means something to others too. I have finally found a genre where my wild concepts, joy for choral arranging, and background as a vocalist come into play.
FRIKK VILLARD (GOLF CLUB)
Frikk Villard is a songwriter and part of Golfklubb, one of the most up-and-coming pop acts in Norway. Together with the rest of the group, he has contributed to over 80 million Spotify plays and a Spellemann for "Pop of the Year" in 2024. Golfklubb has also had sold-out concerts in several Norwegian cities.
“The first time someone sang along to one of our songs, I realized we had actually reached someone. It wasn't just my guilty pleasure anymore – it meant something to others too,” he says.
HALLVARD SAND GIMMING (GOLF CLUB)
Hallvard Sand Gimming is a member of Golfklubb and one of the fastest growing young songwriters in recent years. He helped start the group after high school in 2022, and has since written and produced several of their most popular songs. In 2024, he won Spellemann together with the rest of the group.
OSCAR BERGGAARD (GOLF CLUB)
Oscar Berggaard is a songwriter and member of Golfklubb, which has had great success both on streaming services and on stage. His group has played at festivals such as Palmesus and Slottsfjell and sold out Sentrum Scene. Berggaard helps shape the musical expression of the group, which was awarded the Spellemannpris in 2024.
MARIT OTHILIE THORVIK (JOUSKA)
Marit Othilie Thorvik is behind the solo project Jouska, which won the Spellemannprisen in the electronica category in 2023. She has also written music for Beharie, TV series such as hybris, and was nominated for the Bendiksen Prize in 2024. Thorvik has distinguished himself as an innovative voice in electronic and alternative pop music.
PEDER ELIAS ERIKSRUD KJORHOLT (PEDER ELIAS)
Peder Elias is an artist and songwriter with a large international reach, especially in South Korea and China. He has had several singles in the top 10 in Asia, and his debut album Love & Loneliness sold several times platinum. In 2022 he won the Spellemann award for "International Success of the Year" and has performed both in large arenas and street concerts in Asia.

SEE THE GRIEVANCE
Synne Sørgjerd is a songwriter and artist from Kolbotn, known for her intimate and personal writing style. Her debut EP Sailing on the sea and having someone to hate came in 2023 and received good reviews in the Norwegian press. She has built a strong fan base via social media and is associated with Playground Music.
– It feels damn good to know that it's still possible to write an emotional radio hit alone in your room – without the cynical framework of a studio session, she says.
VETLE SIGMUNDSTAD (dublon)
Vetle Sigmundstad is a producer, musician and entrepreneur with the solo project dublon. He combines pop, electronica and jazz, and has been involved in a number of productions, including with Eirik Aas and AVGVSTVS. In addition to music, he runs his own companies and is active in both releases and live projects.
– I've been a songwriter and producer for ten years, so it feels really good to have a breakthrough now. The studio is one of my favorite places to be, he says.
